Who runs this site

Big Walk Field Guide is an independent reference site about the game Big Walk, published at gamebigwalk.online. It is not affiliated with House House or Panic. You can reach us at hello@gamebigwalk.online.

What we collect ourselves

Nothing that identifies you. We do not ask you to create an account, we have no login, no newsletter and no comment system.

The interactive tools on this site run entirely in your browser: the system requirements check, the player count planner and the voice chat troubleshooter. The answers you give them are never sent to us or to anyone else, and are gone when you close the page.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages get read and roughly where readers come from. It sets first-party cookies and processes your IP address in order to work out approximate location and to tell one visit from another. We use it to decide what to write next, not to build a profile of you.

Google Analytics 4 does not store raw IP addresses. We do not link analytics data to anything else, we have not enabled Google Signals or advertising features, and we cannot identify an individual reader from what we see.

You can block it with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, with any tracker blocker, or by declining analytics cookies if you were asked.

Hosting

The site is served through Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes the requests needed to deliver pages, which includes your IP address, and keeps aggregate traffic and security logs. We use this to keep the site running and to see roughly how many people visit; we cannot identify individuals from it.

Advertising

We intend to fund this site with Google AdSense. When that begins, the following will apply and the status notice above will change on the same day.

• Google and its partners may set cookies, or read existing ones, to serve and measure advertising.
• Google may use the advertising cookie to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites.
• You can turn off personalised advertising in Google's Ads Settings, and opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info.
• Google's own explanation of how it handles data from sites that use its services is in the Google privacy and terms.

No advertising cookie is set today, because no advertising runs here. Before any does, we will put a consent tool in place for readers in the UK, EU and Switzerland. Google requires a certified one, and it will ship on the same deploy as the ads, not after.

Links to other sites

We link out a great deal. That is the point of the citation badges. Once you follow a link to Steam, PlayStation, Wikipedia, Reddit or anywhere else, that site's own privacy policy applies and ours does not.

Children

Big Walk is rated E for Everyone, so some of our readers will be children. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, of any age. If advertising is running here, it is configured to comply with Google's policies on ad serving to children.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal data about you ourselves, there is nothing for us to show you, export or delete. For data held by Google in connection with advertising, use the Google links above. If you think we have got something wrong, write to us and we will look into it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that affects you, in particular when advertising starts, the date at the top will change and the status notice will be updated to match. We will not quietly alter it.
