How this site works
About the Field Guide
A small reference site about one game, built on published sources, with the sources left visible.
What this is
Big Walk came out on 4 August 2026 and a lot of people arrived at it at once, many of them through PlayStation Plus, where it was given away on day one. It is an unusual game to arrive at cold: you cannot play it alone, you cannot be matched with strangers, the host quietly owns everyone's progress, and the first setting you are asked to choose has a counter-intuitive right answer.
This site exists to answer those questions quickly and correctly, and to be checkable while it does it.
How it is put together
- Every factual claim carries a citation badge linking to its source, with the date we last read it.
- Facts live in one place in the codebase, and pages render from it. A page cannot invent a number, because there is nowhere for an uncited number to come from.
- Figures that move, such as review counts, unlock rates and prices, always print the date they were read.
- Where sources conflict, the primary source wins and the conflict is written up rather than hidden.
- Our own analysis is labelled as ours, so you can discount it separately from the facts.
What we will not publish
Puzzle solutions and walkthroughs. We have not played through Big Walk. That means we cannot verify a solution, and rewriting someone else's while implying we checked it would be dishonest. We point at other people's guides instead.
Invented specifics. There are two hidden achievements whose requirements Valve does not publish. We say that, rather than filling the gap with a plausible guess.
Made-up authority. There is no fabricated reviewer byline on this site, no invented staff, and no claimed hands-on time that did not happen. What we have is public sources, read carefully and cited.
Corrections
We will get things wrong, and sources go out of date on their own. If you find something broken, send it over. We would rather remove a fact than keep a wrong one.
How the site is funded
We intend to run advertising on this site to cover its costs. Advertising will never determine what we say about the game, and we do not accept payment for coverage or for placement in the guides directory. If we ever add affiliate links, that will be disclosed on the page carrying them.
Not the official site
Big Walk Field Guide is an independent reference site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or produced by House House or Panic. Big Walk and all related marks belong to their respective owners.
The official site is bigwalk.game, and House House run their own support address at help@bigwalk.game. For anything that is actually about the game rather than about this website, go to them rather than to us.
